Revive at the beach
…the sun bathing you in its warmth, the waves gently lapping the shoreline, seagulls celebrating nature’s beauty by gliding on the breeze. Whether you yearn for the joy of building the biggest sandcastle or the peaceful tranquility a vacation at the beach promises, you’ll find what your spirit craves at Hampton, Virginia’s Buckroe Beach. Un-crowded, unspoiled and family-friendly in design, Buckroe Beach presents miles of coastline and public playground.
Buckroe Beach’s eight-acres are guarded from Memorial Day through Labor Day by certified lifeguards. Kayaks and peddle-craft are available for rent in season, as are beach chairs and umbrellas. Shore-side picnic shelters complete with tables and grills may be reserved, while a spacious, waterfront playground provides year-round fun for children. Live music and dancing on Sunday evenings begin the week on the right foot and, depending on the weekend, spectators find many special events to cheer about, ranging from volleyball tournaments to lifeguard competitions.
For boaters…
Buckroe is the place to windsurf, sail, and motor the shoreline. Salt Ponds Marina invites boaters to tie-up and step ashore. Enjoy delicious Hampton seafood and local hospitality at nearby waterfront restaurants. And bait and tackle shops ensure anglers are well equipped to lure the catch of the day.
Beach adventures
Visitors and locals alike are invited to enjoy year-round educational programs and guided beach adventures through Hampton Parks & Recreation. Kayak-fishing gear, tackle and watercraft are provided. Park rangers are on staff year-round. Ask a Hampton lifeguard for a Paddle Hampton brochure to maximize your discovery of Hampton’s waterways!
