AAA travel advisors from 14 states and Canada experience Hampton Roads “Hi-Lites” Familiarization key to educating those who dispense travel recommendations
Twenty-six American Automobile Association (AAA) and Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) professionals visited November 30-December 5 during “Hi-Lite Hampton Roads,” exploring Portsmouth, Norfolk, Hampton and Newport News. Marketers from the four cities’ convention and visitor bureaus (CVB) annually collaborate to entertain and educate these vital partners.
Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade Sails Into Town December 1, 2007
Experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season as the 19th annual Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade returns to Southeastern Virginia on December 1, 2007. Over 30 boats are expected to participate in this FREE nautical light show. Boaters interested in participating should contact the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership.
St. George Brewing Company’s Golden Ale Named Grand Champion at the 13th Annual United States Beer Tasting Championship® Summer Competition
St. George Brewing Company was recently awarded the title of “Grand Champion” for its Golden Ale at the 13th annual United States Beer Tasting Championship® (USBTC) Summer Competition. Birthed in 1999, St. George is Hampton’s only micro-brewery. The small three-man operation (in theory…but many hands help bottle the brews) distributes over ten specialty beers from Delaware to South Carolina.
SEW WHAT?--Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XIX Returns to Hampton, Virginia February 21-24, 2008--
This February 21-24, 2008, the city at the “center of it all” will once again welcome the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival (MAQF) to the Hampton Roads Convention Center for the third consecutive winter. Now entering its 19th year, MAQF is one of the most anticipated quilt gatherings on the eastern seaboard. The show is expected to draw upwards of 10,000 attendees.

The Peninsula’s largest illuminated parade will be Saturday, December 8th in Downtown Hampton. The parade starts at 7PM and is broadcast live on WVEC-TV Channel 13. The parade route starts at the intersection of Eaton Street and Settlers Landing Road and continues on to it’s destination of Darling Stadium
